It still doesn't really completely solve the issue until you have an option
to consolidate all the media files required for a show into a bundle and
then have the workspace contain relative pathnames from the position of the
workspace file itself to the media.

For such a "consolidated" show the "working directory" then becomes
irrelevent.

You can then copy the workspace and the media bundle anywhere and they will
still work, kind of like the way audacity works with .aup project files and
data directories alongside them.
