i think chris' interpretation of lars' suggestion is interesting: put  
the license files on removable media. this dovetails nicely with my  
request to have preferences save along with workspaces, rather than  
globally. this will bring us very close to the point where we can plug  
our firewire disks into any mac with a fresh install of qlab, and have  
our whole show ready in moments.

think of a lighting console... designer arrives with disk, loads show  
into ETC express or whatever, and it loads cues, patch, macros, etc...  
we should be like that!
