[QLab] Leopard Status

Hi all,
Just wanted to give everyone an update on where things stand with
Leopard.
I've been working hard to comb out the last little hiccups on
Leopard. The good news is that I've only found two non-Quicktime
Leopard-specific issues so far, and they were both minor. It just so
happens that one of them spewed lots of console messages, potentially
causing stutters as the disk worked to record all those messages. (I
was able to send Josh and Oliver a test build on Sunday, and they
confirmed that fixing that issue fixed the stutters.)
The bad news is that Apple has still not fixed the Quicktime bug that
appeared in Quicktime 7.2. Quicktime 7.2.1, which ships with
Leopard, still causes Video Cues to break when using multiple video
cards e.g. on a Mac Pro. I have confirmed this breaks even with
Apple's example code, so it's not a QLab problem. I have updated my
bug report on this issue to ask for an update on the status of the
bug. Hopefully they'll be able to provide some useful information.
Moreover, the Quicktime 7.2.1 update continues the long tradition of
finding something new to break (or at least change) so that it borks
third-party code. This has caused an obstinate problem with the Video
Cue that I am still working to resolve.
Sorry for the wait, and I'll try to get this wrapped up as soon as I
can.
Thanks,
Chris
