Speaking from experience on the aforementioned show, any solution  
that involves maintaining duplicate cues, be they in separate  
workspaces, separate cue lists, or separate sections of the same cue  
list, is a collossal pain. Inevitably, no matter how easy you imagine  
cutting and pasting changes to be, something will get screwed up,  
more than once. Again, I speak from recent experience :-)

Until QLab has (if ever) the capability to have variables in a target  
cue, the easiest way is to use automator or applescript to make the  
switches outside of QLab.
