There was a blog post back in July about a redundant system made out of two
Mac Minis, two firewire interfaces, a audio switch box and a midi controller.
I think the the idea being the two system run in lock step either via one
system being fired by the other her over midi or via the same MIDI comands
being sent to both macs to cue QLab.
If one goes south you hit the switchover button.
You could easily imagine extending this setup to include disks attaced to
the Mac Mini's. All you then need to do is to wire the macs together using
ethernet and enable "Remote login" in the system preferences which has the
effect of starting a ssh and sftp server on the Mac.
You can then either manually sync the two Macs using CyberDuck (a graphical
ftp/sftp etc. client for the Mac) http://cyberduck.ch/ or configure a folder
action in the finder to automatically sync (again using CyberDuck) when the
folder is changed.
Obviously for this to work you need to keep both the qlab project and the
media assets in the folder which you've setup syncing for.
