Thanks for the update Daniel, I had played with it a little bit and  
found similar results to what you had described--in my case a saved  
workspace with a single live feed quicktime movie would open  
correctly to an alternate FireWire camera, but dragging it in would  
often fail and revert to the main integrated iSight.

This odd behavior isn't too terribly surprising to me, because  
there's minimal control available to me when doing this through  
Quicktime.  The live feed logic in the OS is a bit touchy, and in  
general Apple has historically been able to do things with the live  
feeds and iSight cameras that independent developers could never  
figure out how they accomplished it.  :/

The tack I'm taking right now is to look at both 1) if I can force  
the Video cues to be more properly behaved when they incorporate a  
live feed, and 2) to create a Genuine Quartz Cue to sidestep the  
issue of trying to beat the quicktime-based Video Cue into submission.

I'll certainly keep you updated on the progress.  Thanks for all the
