Ah, sure.  I suppose I had assumed that the summing algorithm was,  
well, summing.  ;)

As regards the point about adding DSP units into the chain, I still  
don't see how it affects things--you can't add an audio unit *in* to  
another audio unit, you can only attach them before or after each  
other.  So it seems that yes, we'd have to take that into account  
when designing how AUs might be added to the Sound Cue processing  
chain (whether or not the units could be added before the mixer,  
after the mixer, or both), but that it doesn't directly relate to how  
the Matrix Mixer unit itself is applying the master gain  
coefficient.  Or am I missing something else?
