Oh, architecturally speaking, it's not hard at all. You know all
those matrix mixers? AUs. Plugging in other AUs is straightforward
with the current design, at least as far as the underlying engine goes.
The time-consuming bit is creating the interface for it to handle any
ol' AU. And testing.
But I've always planned on adding AU support. If nothing else, I
want to at LEAST drop in some controls for an EQ AU, a pitch-bend AU,
etc.
The magic ingredient is, as always, time. ;)
