[QLab] QLab and AU Lab - better living through Chemistry

Ah, somebody else pushing the boundries!
I have tried similar things using Qlab, JackOSX and AU Lab, and had
intentions to create a 'how to' tutorial, but never got around to doing it.
Tricks you can pull off:
Output expansion - a single output from QLab can feed several outputs, each
with EQ and Delay, for example QL outs 1+2 could feed a pros + subs system,
outs 3+4 could feed several surrounds. Effectively creating your own system
processor.
FX - reverb - can route reverb to any set of outputs/speakers and change
reverb levels or routing with a combination of Midi CC (QLab>AULab) and
headscratching.
Live source control - use your audio interface, route it's inputs through
AULab and automate levels with Midi CC. Add reverb to live sources, as
above. (actually this one you could do without Jack or soundflower)
Drawbacks - it's a bit tricky to set up for the first time, but logical.
There will be some (small) latency for live input routing, but usable in
some scenarios. JackOSX seems to spike the CPU at regular 30 second
intervals - no idea why, never seemed to affect playback. Higher overall
CPU load.
So if you have a fast machine, worth experimenting with.
Mike
