Hi Chris,
New Beta seems... Betta (it works, incase that was too subtle!)
I have tried playing a couple of MPEG-1 video files (VCD format as it
happens) and both freeze just before the end of the video file. Not a
system lock up of any kind, just the the video does not finish playing.
Hitting Stop clears the video correctly. This was actually the same for the
old beta, just test with the new one to confirm.
I can email you the file if this is of any use (though I don't believe it is
specific to this file)
I can't imagine that anyone would pick this as a video file format of
choice, but thought it might be of interest.
Related to this, which video formats should Qlab be happiest with?
DV - Fine, both PAL and NTSC
MOV (QT) - Fine.
I have tried MPEG-1 (see above),
MPEG-2 - do not play, as I believe you have to install an MPEG-2 codec for
this (despite the fact that VLC media player plays them back on my
machine(?!).
DivX - jerky playback, same in quicktime - again, plays fine in VLC, also
not a format I would imagine people use for live playback.
Nero Digital - playback not that great in terms of smoothness, strange
things happening with colour. Again, a compressed format unlikely to be
used.
