Volume fading on the matrix essentially is a surround panner. Bring
down the level in 1 set of speakers while simultaneously bringing up
the level in another set. I have found that it is pretty smooth when
using the equal-gain'iest fade setting (all the way up on the shape
slider). However if this is not smooth enough, you could always make
2 fade cues, one to come down in one speaker and another to come up
(at a different speed) in another.
To compare it to our love and hated point of reference, Spacemaps are
really nothing more than automation in the Matrix.
