[QLab] Rack mounted MIDI interface and USB hub

You should consider a rack shelf with a front plate and a small USB
hub and USB MIDI interface mounted on it with zip ties or screws.
You can drill or punch holes for a USB passthrough, a Firewire
passthrough and a MIDI jack to be mounted on the front of the rack
(maybe even your 8 audio lines as well) so all you need to do in the
back of the rack is plug in the power.
It would be reasonably cheap and could be reconfigurable as long as
you stick with the Neutrik D-sized punch connectors/barrels.
