[QLab] Corporate-type Shows

For the last few years I've done this corporate talking-head type
event at my old high school for the county. It's a three day event,
and it usually involves projection, sound, and a bit of lighting.
Typically, each department brings their own PowerPoint presentation,
and some departments want to show a video as well. There are also
random bits of music which I'm inevitably asked to play for someone.
This year, I'm trying to tighten the technical aspect of the show up,
so I can cue everything up and have it "just work," without having to
load a new PowerPoint during speaker changeovers, quickly switch
programs to show a video, etc. Has anyone managed to come up with a
good strategy for integrating all of this A/V stuff with QLab?
Obviously there's the video cue for video playback, but what about
cueing up the PowerPoints?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Best regards,
