Yes.

The limitation discussed here is in reference to directing the output  
of pre-composed MIDI files played back from a Video Cue (i.e. from  
QuickTime).

Sometimes it would be handy to direct the MIDI notes in a pre- 
composed file to an external device.

Even though the QuickTime reference manual says you can route MIDI  
files to an external device in the System Preferences, this is not  
true.  A CoreAudio engineer has confirmed that they have "not  
supported this feature on Mac OS X".

Pretty annoying that the manual has been wrong for so long, even  
though people keep pointing out that it is wrong, but there it is.

Therefore, while QLab *can* send any set of MIDI notes or MSC  
messages to any external device, it can't yet redirect a MIDI file  
(pre-composed music or otherwise) to an external device.
