One thought would be to start both cues at the same time, the second cue 
with a level of zero, then when it's time for the cue, fade in the second 
cue and fade out the first. Obviously depending on the nature of the second 
piece this may or may not work but you might be able to work in x numbers of 
seconds of silence to get closer to a "perfect cue" if you have an idea of 
how long it will be until the cue is called.
