Well it would if you were simply asking the Quicktime or core audio  
API to play it, and it checked the DRM rights before carrying out the  
request.  I've no idea how DRM is implemented on the Mac, but I can't  
see any reason why it couldn't work so any application could play  
DRMed music.  Just so long as there was no way the API could be used  
to retrieve the un-DRMed raw data.

With the Symbian mobile phone multimedia API a C++ or Java app can  
play DRMed media.
