True.  But you could have a bit of boilerplate in your email that  
says something like:
1) Right click on the Qlab workspace file in Finder.
2) Select "Show Package Contents".
3) Send me the file called "workspace.xml" but not any of the other  
files or folders.

The bigger problem I imagine is the one about how to expose the  
individual sound files for editing in other applications.  I suppose  
one answer here could be drag'n'drop from the workspace view direct  
to the other application.  Or perhaps an "Open with..." option in the  
sound cue inspector and sound cue context menu.

Ha!  It's so much easier to say than do!  ;-)
