Hello Chriss,

I´ve decided to send this one to this list, -instead of the tracker,
because it could be interesting to discuss.....I know this one is not
someting just to implement, it´s maybe something for version 3.0 or
4.0 of Cuelab... and it´s ment to be an idear, that needs to be
polished and shaped to something useable.... but imagine:

"Horisontal View"... what if you could open up an editor, that
displayed the waveform of your audiofiles placed on a timeline, -with
volume-curves on top of the waveform... This could be the ultimate
way to program musical and precise fades.... i would give you very
very precise control of what is going on with the levels of each
sound in the playlist... ( and for future features as well... all
"floating parameters" could be represented by a visual curve on a
timeline.... (with the waveform as background) Just like automation
curves in Logic or Protools...

But:

There is a problem to define how the "fixed timeline representaion
of waveforms" could be used for the "cue based playlist, -with ever
chaning time-reference,- due to the fact that overlapping cues in a
liveshow never overlaps at the same spot... (that is what it´s all
about... ITS ALIVE !!!)

".... but the idear of a visual representation of volume curves, is
something that could be interesting to discus...." maybe it could be
something realated to each sound cue,- giving you the possibility to
edit volume curves the visual way for each sound cue seperat.... but
the crossfades between the cue is still handled the "fixed" way as it
is now....

hope you understand the essens of this.... Could be great to
discuss this... what do you think ?

Greatings from Copenhagen,

Jonas Vest
